About the academy

A new day for caregiver training

New Day Healthcare Academy prepares adults to enter home care with confidence, skill and the professionalism families deserve.

Healthcare students learning with a registered nurse instructor

Built by caregivers, verified by nurses

We started New Day because too much caregiver training is a slideshow with a multiple-choice test at the end. Real home care is judgment: knowing when to stop, when to sit a client down, and when to call the nurse.

Our Virginia 40-Hour Personal Care Aide program teaches that judgment through branching case scenarios, video demonstrations, online competency checklists and recorded skill assessments that a registered nurse reviews electronically. The whole program is completed online.

The academy is built so state-specific caregiver courses can be added over time, each with its own required hours, topics, competency requirements and regulatory version.

What we stand for

Clinical accuracy first

Every module is written and reviewed against current caregiving practice, not recycled slide decks.

Dignity in every lesson

We teach care that protects a person's privacy, culture, choices and independence.

Honest credentials

We never overstate approval status, and no certificate is released without RN verification.

Access for working adults

Mobile-friendly training you can complete between shifts, at your own pace.
